Powered-descent landing GNC system design and flight results for Tianwen-1 mission

Abstract The powered-descent landing (PDL) phase of the Tianwen-1 mission began with composite backshell—parachute (CBP) separation and ended landing-rover touchdown. main tasks this were to reduce velocity lander, perform avoidance maneuver, guarantee a soft PDL overcame many challenges: performing divert maneuver avoid collision CBP while simultaneously avoiding large-scale hazards; slowing descent from approximately 95 0 m/s; precise hazard-avoidance maneuver; placing lander gently safely on surface Mars. architecture algorithms guidance, navigation, control system for designed; its execution resulted in Tianwen-1’s successful touchdown morning 15 May 2021. Consequently, achieved historic autonomous simultaneous hazard avoidance.
